March 25, 1950 - July 2, 2025

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to son ship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the one he loves” (Ephesians 1:3-7).

As part of God’s plan for his eternal election, Robert Kurt Grams was born to Kurt and Dorothy Grams on March 25, 1950, in Chicago, IL. God kept his promise and adopted him into his family by means of the Sacrament of Holy Baptism as an infant.

The Lord led his life and that of Christine Hosmer to come together. On September 22, 1973, they promised to remain true to each other as husband and wife and were married at St. James Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, WI. The Lord blessed them with 42 years of marriage.  He also blessed them with 2 children: Eric Kurt and Stacy Kristin. And he blessed them with 4 grandchildren: Makenna Brooklyn, Logan Grace, Harper Dorothea and Everly Kristin.

Bob is survived by his sisters Virginia and Carolyn and his brother Norman, his children Eric (Melissa), Stacy (Jeremiah), his granddaughters, and other relatives and friends.  Bob’s wife Chris and his parents Kurt and Dorothy, preceded him in death.

Bob was an avid sports fan who loved his Wisconsin teams (Packers, Brewers and Bucks) and actively participated in bowling, softball, basketball, and golf. In his prime, Bob could be found at Mather’s Lanes perfecting his bowling form where he later came to be known as “Brooklyn Bob”. His bowling career culminated in rolling a perfect 300 game in 2007. Bob also spent weekends and Sunday evenings playing softball and basketball with his St. Paul’s Muskego teammates. He passed along his love of golf to his son Eric and together they played annually together in the Wisconsin Lutheran High School golf tournament.

The Lord kept Bob in his family by leading him to be faithful in his use of the means of grace, that is, his Word and sacraments his whole life.

On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at the age of 75years his soul was carried by God’s holy angel to live with his Savior, Jesus, into all eternity.

“The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away. May the name of the Lord be praised.”

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 8, from 9:00 AM, until the time of Service at 10:00 AM at BRIDGE MKE, 3203 S. 76th Street, Milwaukee.

Bob, we had numerous classes together. My most vivid memory of you is the Saturday morning the winter of our senior year when you invited me to come bowling with you.  You were very patient with me, and tried your best to teach me some advanced techniques, but I persisted  the rest of my life in aiming for the pins, rather than aiming with those arrow guides that are much closer; and unlike you with your wild hook, my ball went straight and did not hook at all; and unlike you, I never got close to a 300 game.  I am filled with joy that you held on to faith in your Savior until the end.  I do not believe I saw you since high school, but I will see you in the next life.
